Lately, I’ve noticed an alarming amount of African Americans or Blacks in America, distancing themselves from Christianity. There are social media accounts supporting this movement popping up left and right. From what I’ve gathered, many feel as though Christianity was forced upon black people as way for slave owners to make their slaves more obedient and docile.
Does being a Christian make you weak? Are you more gullible as a believer of Jesus Christ? If this is true, what if any, religion did the enslaved Africans practice prior to being sold and shipped to the Americas? Were they not people of faith? These are some of the questions that I will touch on in this talk.
PLEASE feel free to chime in as much as you’d like in the comments below, however do NOT be disrespectful of anyone nor any religion. Also, it’s probably best to watch the video on it’s entirety before responding directly to something I said. This is a community of love and tolerance. The only Zero Tolerance is for disrespect. Thanks! xo
Here’s a blog post that one of our commenters wrote regarding Exodus/Black people leaving the church. Check it out.
